Dhanbad, Jan 4: Dr Mohmmed Nasim, a physician of Bokaro Sadar hospital died following a cardiac arrest while being on duty today in the early morning
Bokaro civil surgeon (CS) Dr J Kumar said that Dr Nasim (46) was on night duty on Thursday. At around 11.30 p.m., he complained of mild chest pain and took some medicines. At around 5 a.m. on January 14’s, he again complained about chest pain and was immediately admitted in emergency. He then died while undergoing treatment.
“Prima facie, it looks like a case of heart attack but a post-mortem report would clear the reason,” said the CS.
Dr Nasim, a resident of Bokaro city, was deployed in Bokaro Sadar Hospital on contract basis for the last two years.
Dr Mahmood Islam, who was also on night duty along with Dr Nasim said that at night around 11.30 pm he (Dr Nasim) complained of uneasiness and administered medicine.
“At 5 a.m. in the morning, he again complained of chest pain, fell and became senseless,” he said to media persons.
After getting information of death, the family members and relatives of Dr Nasim reached the hospital and gheraoed the Deputy Superintendent demanding compensation and job.
However, after assurance of civil surgeon Dr J Kumar to recommend compensation as per guidelines of the state government, the family members allowed for post mortem of the body.
