New Delhi, June 21: Satish Agnihotri, the former CMD of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, was the subject of a Lokpal referral over allegations of corruption, but the CBI has now dropped the case because no evidence supporting his prosecution was discovered, according to sources.
After retiring from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), Agnihotri was appointed managing director of the National High Speed Railway Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), which is in charge of the government’s prized bullet train project, in 2021. After the Lokpal requested that the CBI investigate him, he was fired from his position in July 2022.
In accordance with IPC criminal conspiracy sections and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the CBI had filed a FIR against him.
