Patna, April 7: The counting of votes for 24 local authority constituencies of the Bihar Legislative Council is underway on Thursday. On April 4, voting for the 24 seats in the Bihar Legislative Council took place under tight security.
A total of 75 seats make up Bihar’s legislative council. The legislative council now has 51 members, compared to a total of 75, because all 24 seats in the local government category have been empty since July 2021.
The BJP is contesting on 12 seats, followed by the JD(U) on 11 seats, and Pashupati Paras’ Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party on one seat, among the NDA partners. On April 4, strong security was in place for the vote for the 24 seats in the Bihar Legislative Council.

RJD, on the other hand, is contesting 23 seats from the opposition, while its ally CPI is contesting the remaining one. The Congress is contesting 16 of the 24 seats on its own.
