Hazaribag, July 1: Two brothers were stabbed by their cousin on Saturday in a land dispute resulting in death of one of them.
The incident occurred in Bonga under Ichak police station. Elder brother Akhilesh Mehta (37 years) died in this incident while younger brother Ritesh Raj (29 years) sustained severe injuries.
Seeing his critical condition, Ritesh was referred to RIMS for better treatment. Their relatives said the duo brothers were having land-related dispute with their cousin Sanjay Kumar. They said Sanjay came to the house and started the brawl. During the dispute, he attacked them with a knife. Both the brothers, namely Akhilesh and Ritesh, sustained severe injuries. Akhilesh was declared dead when brought to the hospital.
In this regard, Ichak police station in-charge Dhananjay Singh reached the village soon after getting information about the incident. The body was taken into custody and sent for postmortem. The case is being investigated. The accused will be arrested soon, he added.
