New Delhi, Nov.11: Bharat Biotech CEO Dr Krishna Ella warned on Thursday that If the COVID-19 virus mutates, individuals will need a booster (third) dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine. “If there is a mutated COVID-19 virus then a booster is required,” Dr Ella, whose business makes the COVID-19 vaccination Covaxin, stated. What kind of booster would be required, and how can it be delivered quickly? On that front, we’re working on a variety of containment measures. Even if something unexpected occurs, we are prepared to tackle the issue.”
“India has done a fantastic job,” the Bharat Biotech CEO stated of the country’s achievement of the 100-crore immunisation milestone. That is substantial, and we appreciate the government’s and healthcare professionals’ efforts. To tell you the truth, I congratulate the folks of this country who believe in Indian science and are willing to take the vaccine.”
Dr. Ella praised the central government for allowing Covaxin to be exported, saying, “Right from the start of the pandemic, the Indian government has assisted other countries. The ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative is already delivering COVID-19 vaccines, and I believe the government is serious about assisting other parts of the world.”
“We are the only firm in the world to have a nasal vaccine that has gone into phase two completion,” Bharat Biotech chairman and MD stated of the company’s nasal vaccine candidate. Many companies are attempting this, and it took us some time to figure out the immunology behind it. We now have a better understanding of nasal immunology. Now we’re re-testing immunology in a new direction.”
Wearing a mask, according to Dr. Ella, will prove to be a weapon in the fight against the COVID-19 virus.
“All injectable vaccines will only keep you out of the hospital, not the disease.” Infection will occur, which is why wearing a mask is recommended. Even if you’ve been vaccinated, you’ll still acquire an infection if you don’t use a mask. The transmission will naturally stop if everyone wears a mask. “We’ve been putting in a lot of effort, and now we’ve figured it out,” he remarked.
