Covid precautionary vaccine available in seven private hospitals in Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 7: After the Jharkhand government approved the private hospitals for giving booster doses to the elderly with comorbid conditions and frontline workers, as many as seven private hospitals in Ranchi have procured the booster doses.

These hospitals include SDA Mission Hospital, Berlin Diagnostics, Orchid Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, Promise Healthcare, Apollo Clinic and Medanta Hospital.

The private hospitals have procured COVISHIELD, COVAXIN and SPUTNIK V for giving precautionary doses to the eligible beneficiaries of the district.

As per the protocol set by the Union government, 60 plus people with co-morbid conditions are eligible for booster doses only if their second dose has crossed nine months or 39 weeks.

The eligible beneficiaries for booster doses can take jabs through walk-in at any government or private vaccine points or pre-register on the CoWin portal.

In the CoWin portal, one doesn’t have to register afresh but will have to use the same account that was used for earlier vaccination where a tab for a booster dose is available which is to be activated and a vaccination center is to be selected.

As per the vaccination bulletin issued by the state on Sunday, of 2.41 lakh total beneficiaries is 18 plus age group, 96% have received the first dose and 61% have got both the doses. The coverage between 15-17 years is 45% out of the targeted population of 23.98 lakh since the drive began on January 3 this year.

At the same time, as many as 1,70,137 eligible beneficiaries for precautionary doses have got their shots covering 13.85% of the targeted population since the drive began on January 10 this year.
