New Delhi, Dec 21: Two new cases of BF.7 Covid-19 variation that is responsible for the rise in infections in China, have been found In Gujarat’s Vadodara.
A Vadodara resident who is an NRI and lives in the Sabhanpura area tested positive for the variant.
The NRI woman arrived in India from the United States on December 9, according to Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, and on December 18 she tested positive for Covid-19.
A genome sequencing test was conducted on the woman’s sample, and the results, which were received on Wednesday, verified that she had tested positive for the BF.7 mutation.

The government claims that two additional people who had contact with her underwent testing and had their samples sent for genetic sequencing.
Along with the NRI woman, a man from Ahmedabad’s Gota neighbourhood also tested positive for BF.7. The man recently came in Ahmedabad and has a positive Covid-19 test. Additionally, his sample was sent for genome sequencing, and the results show that he has the BF.7 variation of the infection.
