Gumla, Nov 26: CPI-Maoists in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday blew up the newly constructed police station building at Kurumgarh with a bomb creating ruckus in Gumla.
Police came to know of the incident in the morning and rushed to the spot.
The preliminary inquiry suggested as many as 80 Maoists were involved in the incident.
The Maoists also left a pamphlet near the site of the incident after detonating the police station building. The pamphlet stated the retaliation on the arrest of Maoist leader Prashant Bose.
The CPI-Maoist had called a bandh from November 23 to 25 in four states including Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The bandh was called for the second time by the Naxalites in a span of four days. Earlier, during the bandh called on November 20, Maoists blew up railway tracks in Latehar and Chakradharpur in Jharkhand. Due to the vigilance of the security forces, law and order were generally maintained during this bandh of the Maoists.
