Jamshedpur, Sept 27: Three criminals looted Rs 43,000 at gunpoint from a lady agent of Bandhan Bank under Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum on Wednesday.
While committing the loot, the criminals snatched Scooty of the victim who is identified as Shikha Prajapati.
The broad-day-light loot took place on the road between Rungasai and Mandalsai while the victim was going to deposit the cash at the bank’s Loknathnagar branch having collected the money from the women self-help groups in Tonkatola and Rungasai.
According to an FIR lodged with the Chakradharpur thana, as the victim was riding towards Loknathnagar, two bike-borne youths chased her and intercepted her vehicle by overtaking her. Soon another youth also appeared in the scene.
First, one of the youths took out the ignition key from the Scooty, while another fished out a pistol and trained it at the victim’s forehead, demanding to hand over the cash. Subsequently, the trio checked the bag of the victim and also the vehicle’s dickey from where they took out all the cash amounting to Rs 43,000.
According to the FIR, having looted the cash, the criminals also took away the Scooty, leaving the victim to scream in vain.
The police have swung into action after getting the complaint of the loot.
A police officer while talking to lagatar24.com said those who committed the loot must have followed the movement of the lady agent, adding that they are trying to detect the criminals by carrying out a scientific investigation.
