Daltonganj, Jan 15: Civil surgeon Latehar Dr Haren Chandra Mahto took stock of the physical as well as medical facilities meant for the Covid patients in case of their hospitalisation at the community health centre Barwadih block.
The Barwadeeh block has 13 cases of home isolation but no single case of hospitalisation so far.
Speaking to lagatar24.com today, Dr Mahto said that CHC Barwadih has 10 beds which are oxygen supported but he has asked the medical officer in-charge of the centre Dr Ashish Ranjan to get more beds ready.
The CS said there is a hall where family planning beneficiaries are temporarily housed which will now be attached to the covid treatment centre as there is enough space left for FP operated beneficiaries.
On being asked if he checked the flow of the medical oxygen and venturi mask, Dr Mahto said he checked the flow meter and accessibility of the medical oxygen and found it flawless.
Medical officer in charge of CHC Barwadih Dr Ashish Ranjan said: “We have 5 D type medical oxygen cylinders, 9 B type oxygen cylinders , 22 concentrators of 8 litres and 5 litres capacity of O2 both.”
“This CHC has done 79 percent of the first dose of the vaccination and we are looking for our 21 percent eligibles whom we need to vaccinate,” said the CS on being asked about vaccination data.
Asked who these 21 percent are to which he said there are a good number of people who have feigned illness to duck vaccination.
“There are people who have either gone out of Barwadih but stay put in its nearby block Garu and there they have taken the vaccine,” he added.
Sources said a good number of verifiers, an important human resource in vaccination management, are cutting into the efforts of the vaccination quite sheepishly.
Their mischief is sharp as on days when there is poor vaccination the verifiers do not close their vaccination account the same day but wait for some other day when vaccination picks up and then the figure of the vaccination is spread over to have a picture of consistency.
The CS conceding it said that verifiers are really up-to this kind of mental mischief and he has asked all his medical officers to contain the situation.
Asked about improper or no monitoring of covid positive persons in home isolation, Dr Mahto said this has been accorded high priority and medical officers have been brushed up with the new guidelines for home isolation which has reduced the isolation period from 14 days to 7 days. “Also, if there is no fever for three successive days then the person is free of the isolation and it depends upon him to get tested or not,” he added.
