Ranchi, May 4: Noted social worker of Jharkhand Namrata Chadha today asked women not to compete to be equal to men and work according to their diversity.

She was addressing graduate and post graduate girls of Central University of Jharkhand as a chief guest during a one-day skill enhancement and personality development programme. The programme was organized under the aegis of the National Commission for Women in the Department of Education, of the said university.

“’Women should not compete to be equal to men but work according to their diversity,” she said after discussing the status of women in various social contexts, inspiring the girl students to know their rights and making them aware of the side effects of social media.

Earlier, presiding over the programme vice chancellor Kshiti Bhushan Das said that efficiency is most important for the progress of the country and if the efficiency increases then women empowerment will automatically happen.

Expressing his university’s commitment for making women self-reliant he said, ‘for self-reliant India, women’s participation should be ensured and such skill enhancement programs should be organized.’

Nodal Officer and Dean (programmes and extension cell) Tapan Kumar Basantia while explaining the outline of the programme drew everyone’s attention towards achieving the objectives.

The subject matter experts of the efficiency programme Devbrat Singh, Aditi Sharma and Pragya Shukla made the participants participate in activities on various social, educational, mental and administrative aspects.

Participating girl students shared their experiences during the programme and discussed their curiosities with the subject experts.
