Dumka, Feb 1: The recovery of the body of a thirty five years old government employee from the town police station area of Dumka district early morning on Tuesday has sparked sensation in the sub capital town.
The deceased has been identified as Deep Kumar Srivastava. He was found lying in a pool of blood along the side of Hizla road in Dangal Pada locality by the common commuters at around 5 a.m. when they informed the police.
According to the police, Srivastava hailed from Ratu road in Ranchi and was posted in Dumka with the Rural Development Department (special division) on the post of clerk for the last couple of years.
The spot where the dead body was recovered situates in the vicinity of the rented house he lived in being a bachelor tenant.
Srivastava was last seen in his office in the district collectorate building at 6 p.m. on Monday when he along with his colleagues attended a farewell party of one of their colleagues who retired on the same day.
The Rural Development Department remained in the limelight owing to the financial fraud of Rs 1.42 crore allegedly committed in connivance with the departmental officials and employees.
“The incident prima facie appears to be that of murder with the dead body been apparently dumped by the culprits anytime in the night,” the officer in-charge of the town police station Devbrat Poddar said adding that the family members of the deceased were informed and the dead body was taken into the police custody.
