Birmingham, Aug 1: The women’s four lawn bowls team from India advanced to the final by defeating New Zealand 16-13 on Monday, adding a seventh medal to their collection.
Lovely Choubey (lead), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third), and Rupa Rani Tirkey (skip, mounted an incredible comeback in the competition to ensure themselves of at least a silver medal. They will receive gold if they prevail in the final.
After defeating Norfolk Island at the Commonwealth Games on Sunday, the women’s fours team advanced to the semifinals of the lawn bowls competition.
