Jamshedpur, Aug 25:  A cyclonic circulation which originated from the north Bay of Bengal would continue to impact Jharkhand’s weather on Thursday.

Weathermen said light to moderate rain was expected at several places today. Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of thunder and lightning at a few isolated pockets today.

Describing the monsoon activity as normal over the state for the past few days, a duty officer at IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre said several places in southern, central and northwestern Jharkhand were expected to experience light to moderate showers ranging between 5 mm and 20 mm today.

Inclement weather conditions prevailed in most parts of the state on Thursday.

Rain data suggested that against a normal of 744 mm, Jharkhand has so far this monsoon actually received 547 mm of rain, a deficit of 27 per cent.

Met data suggested that most parts of the state including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Hazaribagh recorded day’s readings between 31 and 32 degrees Celsius during the past two days.
