Hazaribagh, May.29: Dozens of armed masked criminals committed a robbery of Rs.14 lakh comprising of gold ornaments and cash at Mother Hatchery located in Demotand under the Mufassil police station area. The incident has been reported late Sunday night at 12 o’clock. A case has been registered at the Mufassil police station on the complaint of Umakant Sahu, director of Mother Hatchery. Three people involved in the incident have been arrested by the Mufassil police. The police are interrogating the three accused by keeping them at a secret place.

Sources said 10 masked armed people stopped at a hotel in Demotand from SUV and from there 10 people entered Mother Hatchery on foot at around 12 o’clock on Sunday. As soon as they entered, the criminals first injured Rajeev Kumar, the watchman standing at the gate by hitting him on the forehead. They took other staff Guddu Rawani and Sunil Singh hostage. After which the criminals came near the main building and took everyone hostage by pointing guns at the employee Manoj Mahto and others. First of all, the criminals damaged the CCTV installed in the office and took the DVR. After this, the criminals took off the gold chain and bracelet from Sanjit Mann and Mahesh Mandal. They checked the almirahs of all the rooms and left from there at around 1 am taking about 6 lakh rupees in cash and gold ornaments.

As soon as the criminals left, the employees there informed the owner about the incident. Owner Umakant Sahu informed to Mufassil police about this. The Mufassil police swung into action and caught the SUV in which the criminals had come from outside a hotel. Police arrested two people sitting in the hotel and started asking about everyone. They told about the mastermind of this robbery, Monu, who was later arrested by the police in the night itself. The SUV used in the robbery has also been seized by the police.

Police officials said they got the names of each and everyone involved in this case. We will arrest all soon, added they.
