Ranchi, June 28: Amid the fourth wave speculations, the cases of Covid-19 in Jharkhand are on a rise as the number of active cases has gone up to 232. Currently, in Ranchi, there are a total of 116 active cases.

Ranchi Civil Surgeon Vinod Kumar has informed lagatar24.com that the RT-PCR test is currently being done at Ranchi Airport and all government hospitals to tackle the rise in covid cases.

“On an average, we are testing around 400-500 samples every day all over the city. As compared to the second wave, the testing has gone down as there is a lack of manpower as well as a lack of vehicles. Around 300-400 manpower have been removed since the cases of covid dropped,” he said.

He added that on an average, every day around 12-15 new cases of Covid-19 are reported in Ranchi.

“People are thinking that Covid is over and have stopped using a very dangerous mask. Covid is not yet over and everyone should take it seriously and wear a mask in crowded public places,” he added.

Last week, the state disaster management department made it mandatory to wear masks in public places and maintain proper social distancing amid the rise in covid-19 cases. Spitting in public places should also be avoided.

Many private hospitals in the city have made it mandatory for the visitors and the staff to wear masks regularly as it becomes one of the most common places to get infected with the virus.
