Daltonganj, July 20: The staff at Bank of Baroda branch in Daltonganj celebrated the 115th anniversary of the bank. According to the senior branch manager Birender Kumar Sah, there are 8,000 strong clientele in this branch.
There are around two dozen disabled customers and as this branch is on the upper floor and there is a staircase to reach the inside of the branch, so for the disabled customers the bankers go down the staircase and do the needful of the disabled customers, said the senior branch manager.
The branch offers account facility for the public provident fund and for girls Sukanya Simridhi Yojna. Sources said this branch had two bad incidents last year. An attempt was made to burgle the branch and the other was when a small fire broke out.
Senior branch manager said as there is a space crunch we are not launching locker facility in this branch but once we get suitable space we will be offering this service.
Sources said the non-performing asset called NPA is around Rs 40 lac in this branch for which efforts are on to get repayment of the borrowed money.
The branch offered sports kits for cricket, badminton, chess, ludo in a house for stray children while in a school this branch offered writing kits like pen pencil copy etc.
Bank officials like Sushil, Shailja, Preeti, Piyush and guard Ashok worked hard for the celebration while performing the day long financial transaction today. End
