Daltonganj, July 26: Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tarhassi, Sachidanand Mahto today reached the house of Akash Kumar, 13, a class 6th student of the government upgraded plus 2 high school Selari who has alleged to have been beaten up by a teacher of the same school on suspicion of stealing a wrist watch.
BDO Mahto said, “I met the boy and his father at their house. The boy has some complaints like pain in his chest. The boy trembles also.”
The BDO further said, “On July 24, this student was beaten up by a teacher of Hindi N K Mehta on suspicion of his stealing a wrist watch. It was no harsh beating but the boy said he got hurt in his chest.”
Mahto said, “The student told him that he has no malice or grievance against his teacher. The boy wants to be painless.”

The wrist watch that was said to have been stolen was ultimately recovered the same day abandoned in the nearby shrubs near the school, informed the BDO.
Interestingly neither the student nor his father Binod Ram has lodged any complaint in this regard with the police station, Tarhassi.
Officer in -charge of the Tarhassi police station Jay Prakash Paswan said, “Till date there has come no written complaint about beating of Akash Kumar by any teacher.”
Dr Amit Azad quoting the doctor of Tarhassi addl PHC said there is a minor abrasion in the chest of Akash Kumar otherwise he is all fine. Azad said he has been advised x-ray of his chest and referred to the higher centre MMCH Daltonganj.
