DAV Rajrappa celebrates International Yoga Day

Ramgarh, June 21: DAV Public School, Rajrappa enthusiastically observed International Yoga Day with the theme “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” emphasizing the unity and interconnectedness of the global community. The event was held in the morning and included various activities such as yoga sessions, competitions, and interactive exercises.

The day began with an invigorating yoga session led by the Principal, B. P. Roy, who himself is an ardent yoga practitioner. The event took place in the school assembly ground, which was beautifully decorated with colourful banners and posters highlighting the significance of yoga. Students and their parents, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, eagerly participated in the session, forming a vibrant and united group. For classes LKG to VIII, yoga was also conducted in virtual mode, students and their parents participated with zeal.

The sessions emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, enhancing mental well-being, and fostering spiritual growth. The event aimed to inspire students to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, acknowledging its benefits as a lifelong practice. During the session, B P Roy interacted with students and asked various questions on yoga day and stressed on leading life with yoga. Everyone pledged for integrating yoga into their life by practising it regularly along with family and friends.

Following the yoga sessions, several activities were organized to encourage active participation and deepen knowledge about yoga. Students eagerly took part in various inter-house competitions including yoga, quiz, essay writing and poster-making contests. These competitions provided students with opportunities to showcase their understanding of yoga, its benefits, and its relevance in modern society.

The International Yoga Day celebration left an everlasting impression on the students and staff, fostering a greater appreciation for the ancient practice of yoga and its relevance in the modern world. It served as a reminder of the importance of nurturing physical and mental well-being while promoting harmony and unity among all individuals, transcending borders and boundaries.
