Daltonganj, Nov. 15: A bullet embedded in the body of the deceased BJYM district treasurer Sumit Srivastav, who was found shot dead in his car that was parked on NH 98 on Sunday, has given the BJP leadership to fire salvo at the postmortem team of 3 doctors in MMCH Daltonganj.
The bullet in his body could not be retrieved despite the postmortem done in the MMCH.
The family of the deceased felt pained and frustrated for not finding the bullet. BJP upped its ante on the MMCH management for failure in retrieving the said bullet.
Deputy Superintendent of MMCH, Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh said, “Our 3 doctor led postmortem report was of the fire arm injury sustained by the deceased Srivastav and subsequent excessive bleeding and shock as cause of his death. It was specific about the cause of death.”
According to sources, medical pleas from doctors says that if the bullet retrieval is not done and the postmortem report mentions fire arm injury, bleeding, and shock, then bullet in or out of the body, then it has no legal significance.
However, the deceased’s family was adamant about retrieving the bullet that was lodged in his body.
On completion of all due formalities the body of the BJYM Srivastav was sent to the RIMS Ranchi at 9 p.m. on Sunday night for taking out the lodged bullet in the body. Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh has confirmed the dispatch of the body to the RIMS Ranchi for the bullet.
There was no news from the BJYM or the BJP on whether or not the lodged bullet had been extracted at the time of writing this article.
