New Delhi, July 8: World leaders reacted to the attack on Former Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply distressed by the attack on his dear friend Shinzo Abe.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and the people of Japan,” tweeted PM Modi.

Former Prime Minister and Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh also said that he is deeply shocked by the tragic attack.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also said that he was shocked to hear of the attack on former Prime Minister.
“Shocked to hear the news of the attack on former PM of Japan, Shinzo Abe, who has been instrumental in deepening Indo-Japanese ties. Prayers for his recovery. My thoughts are with his family,” he said in a tweet.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear about the violent attack against former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. We are closely monitoring the reports and keeping our thoughts with his family and the people of Japan,” reads a statement from White House.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the attack on Abe.
“Shocking news from Japan that former PM Shinzo Abe has been shot – our thoughts are with his family and the people of Japan at this time,” he tweeted.

Notably, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was injured today during a political gathering. According to reports, a guy armed with what appeared to be a handmade rifle fired at him from behind.
