Delhi, Jan 4: A weekend curfew has been imposed in Delhi keeping in view of the rising corona cases and the threat of Omicron. Under this, Delhi will be completely closed on Saturday and Sunday. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that this decision has been taken in the meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

Sisodia said that except for essential services, employees in all government offices may be asked to work from home. At the same time, private offices will work with 50% capacity. On Monday, 4099 corona cases were found in Delhi and the positivity rate increased to 6.46%.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has said that the reason for the increasing cases of corona in the capital is Omicron variant. He said that more restrictions may be imposed as the number of patients admitted to the hospital increases.
