New Delhi, Oct 16: Tejashwi Yadav was given permission by the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court on Monday to travel to Japan on an official visit.

He had asked for authorization to travel from October 24 to November 1, 2023, and he is accused in the land for job scam.

Tejashwi was given permission to travel internationally by special judge Geetanjali Goel, who also released his passport.

The court ordered him to provide a travel itinerary and a 25 lakh rupee FDR bond.

The court granted Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav an exemption from appearance for today’s hearing.

The court also acknowledged a request from the accused’s legal representative to instruct the CBI to deliver the documents on a pen drive, as the CD provided is not functioning on the laptop.

The matter was scheduled for further hearing on November 2 after the judge instructed the counsel to coordinate with the investigative officer.

In reference to a new Chargesheet in the purported Land for Job Scam case, the court earlier on October 4 had granted bail to former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Rabri Devi, and others.

In the land for job scam case, the CBI filed a case on May 18, 2022, against Lalu Yadav and others, including his wife, two daughters, unidentified Public employees and private individuals.

It was alleged that between 2004 and 2009, the then-Union Minister of Railways received financial benefits, such as the transfer of landed property into the names of his family members, etc., in place of the appointment of substitutes to Group “D” Posts in various Railway Zones. It was further alleged that in their place, the substitutes, who were either Patna residents themselves or through their family members, sold and gifted their Patna-located land in favour of the said Minister’s family members, as well as a private company that was under the control of the same family members and was also involved in the transfer of such immovable properties in their names.
