In order to solve the problem of pollution caused by stubble burning in winter, the Delhi government will prepare a bio-de-composer solution in Kharkhari Nahar.
In collaboration with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, the Delhi government is to develop a bio-decomposer capsule for Rs 50 lakh for four thousand acres of fields. These capsules can easily be converted into a solution and that can be sprayed on crops. Once sprayed on the field, this solution will decompose the stubble into compost in a period of 20 days.
Environment Minister Gopal Roy said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate this scheme on September 24.“To solve the problem, the Delhi government is constantly meeting with different departments to prepare its winter action plan. All the departments are preparing their winter action plan, which we will prepare by September 30. After that, we will present the plan to the Chief Minister and after deliberation, we will announce it,” said the environment minister.
Gopal Roy also informed that this solution will be prepared in Kharkhari Nahar in collaboration with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa. The Environment Minister said that the farmers are very excited by the report of the third party audit and have also demanded spraying in non-basmati paddy fields. He appealed to the Center to take immediate action considering it as an emergency so that the people of North India including Delhi can get rid of the problem of stubble.
Notably, the Delhi government will prepare it by October 5 and will spray the solution free of cost in the farmlands. The farmers need to fill a form and the government will spray the solution in their fields for free. The government has also made a committee of 25 members to reach the farmers and execute the plan.
