New Delhi, Aug 25: The Delhi High Court ordered on Thursday the Central government to submit a consolidated reply to all petition challenging the Agnipath Scheme for armed forces recruitment.

However, a Division Bench made up of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad refused to stay the execution of the plan, stating that they would not issue an interim order and instead wait to hear the case in its entirety.

The Bench further requested that the government provide a separate response to petitions that questioned the hiring practises used prior to the implementation of the Agnipath Scheme.

Delhi High Court has also asked the Centre to file a separate reply copy on various pending recruitment processes in Armed forces before the introduction of the Agnipath scheme. https://t.co/RM9qK5LM6a

Notably, a number of cases involving the Agnipath Scheme and general enlistment in the armed forces are currently being heard in court. Widespread, occasionally violent protests had been organised across the nation in response to the launch of the Scheme. Additionally, numerous petitions were filed in numerous courts as a result of it.

Earlier, the applications listed before the Supreme Court and different High Courts throughout the nation were transferred to the Delhi High Court in July.
