Delhi/Patna: The petition of Chirag Paswan, son of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, has been dismissed by the Delhi High Court as a petition without merit. The High Court said that there is no basis in Chirag Paswan’s petition. Said that the matter is pending with the Lok Sabha Speaker. So there is no need to order.
Let us tell you that on Friday, the Delhi High Court heard the petition filed by Chirag Paswan against taking oath as a minister to Pashupati Paras as a member of Lok Janshakti Party on behalf of the Lok Sabha Speaker. The court said that we cannot give any order in this matter right now.
The lawyer also referred to a decision of the Supreme Court. The court said that we cannot pass any order in this matter as the speaker is looking into the matter. It was said on behalf of Chirag Paswan that Pashupati Paras is not a member of LJP due to his exit from the party. Chirag had challenged the decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the court which recognized the faction of his uncle, Union Food Processing Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras. Pashupati Paras’s lawyer said that the letter which was given by Paras to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, at that time Pashupati Paras was the Chief Whip of the party and was later elected the leader of the party.
