Delhi High Court dismisses Chirag Paswan’s petition, relief to Minister Pashupati Paras

The counsel for the Speaker of the Lok Sabha said that there is no ground for hearing on this petition. When the Lok Sabha Speaker himself is looking into the matter

Delhi/Patna: The petition of Chirag Paswan, son of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, has been dismissed by the Delhi High Court as a petition without merit. The High Court said that there is no basis in Chirag Paswan’s petition. Said that the matter is pending with the Lok Sabha Speaker. So there is no need to order.

Let us tell you that on Friday, the Delhi High Court heard the petition filed by Chirag Paswan against taking oath as a minister to Pashupati Paras as a member of Lok Janshakti Party on behalf of the Lok Sabha Speaker. In the course of the hearing, the speaker’s lawyer informed the court that he had spoken to the speaker in this matter. Information was received from there that he (speaker) is watching this episode.

The court said that we cannot give any order in this matter right now.

The lawyer also referred to a decision of the Supreme Court. The court said that we cannot pass any order in this matter as the speaker is looking into the matter. The counsel for the Speaker of the Lok Sabha said that there is no ground for hearing on this petition. When the Lok Sabha Speaker himself is looking into the matter. Chirag’s lawyer did not oppose the speaker’s point.

It was said on behalf of Chirag Paswan that Pashupati Paras is not a member of LJP due to his exit from the party. Chirag had challenged the decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in the court which recognized the faction of his uncle, Union Food Processing Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras. The hearing in this matter was held in the court today. Everyone was waiting for the verdict, the court dismissed the petition in its decision.

Court said you should go to the Election Commission

Pashupati Paras’s lawyer said that the letter which was given by Paras to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, at that time Pashupati Paras was the Chief Whip of the party and was later elected the leader of the party. The court said that you should go to the Election Commission. Should not have come here. The court said that the petition is not maintainable here.
