New Delhi, March 16: Daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, K Kavitha, will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi.
She was called in by the investigation team today for interrogation in a money laundering case connected to the Delhi spirits case, but she had already filed an urgent petition with the Supreme Court, arguing that because she is a woman, the investigators should come to her instead of calling her.

She has informed the ED that the case is still pending in the Supreme Court and has supplied the papers requested by the investigation agency through her legal counsel.
According to Kavitha’s solicitor, it is ‘totally against the law’ for her to be summoned to the ED office. Thus, he requested an immediate hearing. Neither the CBI nor the ED have designated her as an accused.
On March 24, a bench that included Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Judge PS Narasimha decided to hear her case.
Today in Delhi, her party, BRS, put on a tremendous display of power. Top BRS officials have travelled to the capital in support of K Kavitha, one of the party’s most recognisable figures.
On March 11, the Enforcement Directorate also questioned Kavitha in the same matter for many hours. Today was the third time she had been called. The BRS head claims that the investigation agency called her on the basis of declarations taken under duress and threat.
