New Delhi, Nov 4: The state election commission announced today that the municipal corporation elections (MCD) for Delhi will take place on December 4 and that the results will be made public on December 7.
According to state election commissioner Dr. Vijay Dev, the notification will be released on November 7 and the deadline to submit nominations is November 14. He also noted that the Model Code of Conduct is now in effect.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has designated 250 wards. Candidates from the Schedule Caste are only permitted to apply for 42 of these. Reserving 50% of the seats are women.
There were little over 1.46 crore voters in Delhi as of January 1, 2022.
