New Delhi, June 9: The Delhi Police have filed a FIR against AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for allegedly making provocative remarks yesterday. The name of Swami Yati Narsinghanand is also mentioned in the FIR.

Delhi Police IFSO unit has registered a case under various provisions against those who were allegedly spreading messages of hate, inciting various groups and creating situations which is detrimental for the maintenance of public tranquility.

Two FIRs have been filed by the Delhi Police, one against Nupur Sharma and the other against people accused of making “controversial” utterances on a regular basis.

Nupur Sharma was listed in the first FIR, while Naveen Jindal, Shadab Chauhan, Sab Naqvi, Maulana Mufti Nadeem, Abdur Rehman, Gulzar Ansari, and Anil Kumar Meena were named in the second.

Nupur Sharma has been charged with violating the Indian Penal Code’s Sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with the aim to incite riot), 295 (injuring or defiling a place of worship with the intent to insult the religion of any class), and 505 (statements conducive to public mischief) (IPC).
