Hazaribag, Aug 24: A dengue patient, who was studying in Kolkata, has been found in the district. The district administration has confirmed this and said she is fine now. Manashi Kumari, daughter of Suman Kumar Shah, aged 21 years, resident of Sirsi, who had gone to Kolkata for studies about two months back returned due to sudden ill health. She reached her residence in Sirsi where Dr IK Sinha started her treatment
In view of her condition, her blood sample was sent to the DPHL laboratory of Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, where she was detected to have dengue in the test report dated today after the NS1 Ag ELISA test. On receiving information from the patient over the phone, it was found that she is absolutely healthy and at present recovering at her residence.
At present, officials said dengue surveillance work is being carried out in the entire district under a dengue monitoring campaign.
