Denied ticket for MCD polls, ex-AAP councillor climbs tower

New Delhi, Nov 13: Haseeb-ul-Hasan, a former councillor for the Aam Aadmi Party, today scaled a high-tension wire tower in front of the Shastri Park metro station in Delhi to voice his opposition to the party’s allegedly unwise policies.

He allegedly vowed to commit suicide and ascended the building after learning that he had not been allocated a ticket to run in the upcoming elections for the Delhi local council.

Haseeb ul Hasan, a former corporator nominated by the AAP, is rumoured to still be dangling from the tower.

134 candidates were included in the AAP’s initial list for the Delhi MCD elections. 70 women received tickets out of the 134 candidates on the list, and the AAP fielded former Naraina MLA Vijender Garg in the MCD elections.
