Dhanbad, March 25: DeNobili School Sindri has suspended two students from the institution over the death of a class10 student Ashmit Akash. The student was found unconscious in the classroom in a mysterious condition on Wednesday. He was later declared brought dead at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad.

Principal of the school Chandrashekhar Francis said that the school management has taken the death of Ashmit Akash seriously and has suspended two students from the school (classmates of Ashmit Akash) Sabit Kumar and Nikhil Kumar in this connection.

“Nikhil has been suspended till the police administration grants him permission while a 15-day ban has been imposed on the entry of Sabit  Kumar in the school,” said the principal to media persons.

Though the names of Nikhil and Sabit are not mentioned in the FIR lodged by Ashmit Akash’s father Prafull Kumar in the police station, he has complained against unknown persons. However, he has accused the school management responsible for the incident.

Nikhil was the class monitor and reportedly in the CCTV camera, he and Sabit Kumar were found scuffling with Ashmit Akash in the classroom before the deceased student fell unconscious.

However, despite a double postmortem of the body, (first FMT department and later five-member medical board of SNMMCH on the directive of  Deputy Commissioner), no reason for death surfaced.

Meanwhile, tension still prevails in Sindri township, especially against the school management, after the incident. Dharna and protests at the school gate by guardians and political parties continued even on Friday. The school management has closed the institution for three days in mourning.

Sindri SDPO Abhishek Kumar, who is heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar, said that once he receives the postmortem report, he would start taking action in the case.
