Deoghar, April 29: To ensure easy access of fire brigade vehicles and ambulances at the doorstep of Baba Baidyanath Dham Mandir in Deoghar and to activate emergency services quickly, the Deoghar administration has decided to free the surrounding area of the temple from illegal encroachments, especially by shopkeepers.
The district administration is going to conduct a special anti-encroachment drive along the approach road to the temple and its surrounding areas from tomorrow.
Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri has already held a meeting with the chief executive officer of Deoghar Municipal Corporation Shailendra Lal and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Jat and has given many instructions in this regard.
The DC asked the SP to support the drive with sufficient police personnel to strictly enforce the drive. To achieve the purpose of the special drive, the DMC CEO has been appointed as the nodal officer and the Deoghar circle officer Motilal Hembrom and District Food Officer Dinesh Marandi have been deployed to support the nodal officer. The duo officers have to report to the DC daily regarding the development of the drive.
According to sources, Deoghar DC aims to create a clean, beautiful and pleasant atmosphere for pilgrims coming to the temple. Many times during the mock drills, it has been realised that there are many hindrances to fire brigade ambulances and even police vans in the path approaching the temple to combat ambulance and even police vans in the path approaching the temple to combat challenges.
CEO Shailendra Lal held a meeting with and instructed the officials to stay alert during the drive. They have been instructed to be in uniform. Four tractors and JCB machines would be used for this purpose.
DC Manjunath Bhajantri has appealed to the public to support the special drive for a noble cause.
This is not the first time that such effort is being exercised to free the surrounding areas of the temple. Before every Shrawani Mela, an anti-encroachment drive is carried out but after the fair gets over, the path and public places get encroached again.
