SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Feb 3: Amid Covid guidelines, the Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) has directed to provide all possible facilities to Baba Baidyanath devotees on the occasion of ‘Basant Panchmi’ so that they could offer prayer smoothly.

In wake of Saraswati Puja (Basant Panchmi) on Saturday, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri today inspected  Baba Baidyanath temple premises in the morning and directed concerned officials to arrange all possible facilities as devotees in large numbers are likely to visit for prayers on this auspicious day.

“However, ensure strict implementation of Covid guidelines, especially making mandatory of masks for devotees and do not allow any person in the temple without it as Covid cases are in danger shape in district,” said the deputy commissioner.

On earlier occasions in the wake of Covid infection, Deoghar district administration had fixed timing and restricted numbers of devotees for entry into the temple. Even devotees below 18 years and above 65 years were banned from entry. But this time DC has lifted such restrictions on the occasion of Saraswati Puja (February 5).

Besides security for devotees, DC Manjunath Bhajantri has also directed officials to make proper arrangement of washrooms, drinking water and other facilities in halls of Queue Complex so that devotees of Jharkhand’s districts and other states return with a good impression of Babadham.

Chief manager Ramesh Parihast, Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi and other officials were with the DC during inspection of temple premises.
