Deoghar, Sept 9: A plate made of gold and silver was stolen from the Dubey Baba Temple located in Dakay of Sarwa Block under Sarwan Police station of Deoghar.
As per information, the priest who lives off-campus came to the temple on the morning of Friday. Upon reaching the gates of the temple, the priest found the lock of the gate damaged and the plate placed on the dais missing.
Soon locals gathered and the police were informed. Upon getting notification of the incident, police officer in-charge of Sarawan police station reached the site and took account of the incident.
According to locals, the stolen rectangular piece of metal is worshipped by the locals. The locals believe it to be divine and have faith in the plate.
Notably, the Dubey Baba temple is a famous temple that has visitors from not only the local regions but also from far and wide. Several of the believers even reside in other parts of the nation.
Officials have informed that apart from the plate here, jewelry and even the idols of Gods placed in other temples have also been stolen in the district.
