Deoghar, Sept 16: The Panda Dharma Rakshani Sabha has objected to the decision by the district administration to keep the fee of Shighra Darshanam at Rs 500 even on normal days at Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple in Deoghar.

Mahamantri of Sabha, Kartik Nath Thakur, has issued a notice around the temple area demanding a rollback of the decision.

He has also appealed to the priest society not to make coupons available to devotees until the issue is resolved and also asked them to avoid entertaining the VIPs who visit to offer ‘Jalaparan’ in the temple for the time being.

Sources confirmed that for a long time, the Deoghar district administration has been planning to hike the charge of the Shighra Darshanam coupon from Rs 250 to 500 even on normal days. The charge for the Shighra Darshanam coupon has been Rs 250 for a long period.

Meanwhile, the local management has kept the Shighra Darshanam gate locked to avoid any uproar.

A meeting of the concerned body and district administration may take place in the evening today to arrive at a consensus.
