Deoghar, April 11: At least two people died in the Deoghar ropeway accident. NDRF and ITBP are involved in rescue operations where several people are stuck in a ropeway trolley due to a mishap. According to officials, 32 people are still stuck in at least 12 cabins in the ropeway. The operations are still on.

Notably, the ropeway service is being operated and maintained by Damodar Ropeway and Infra Limited, a Kolkata-based company.

“Two Mi-17 helicopters are involved in rescue operations in Deoghar district of Jharkhand where several people are stuck in a ropeway trolley due to a mishap. The operations are still on,” said Indian Air Force officials.

Meanwhile, CM Hemant Soren has said that he is reviewing the situation.

“I have been reviewing the situation since yesterday. We have sought help from NDRF, IAF, experts, commandos… Rescue efforts are underway since early this morning,” said Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on the ropeway incident in Deoghar.

Notably, the ropeway located in Trikut mountain of Deoghar met an accident on Sunday evening. Hundreds of tourists got stuck mid way at a height due to the same ropeway system failure.
