Deoghar, April 14: 18-month-old Anand, the youngest victim of the Trikut ropeway tragedy, is being transferred to Ranchi for better treatment.

Anand has suffered facial damage. His jaws, nose bone, and bones below the eyes have all cracked. In medical words, the cracks require wiring. A dental surgeon is required for this procedure but there is a shortage of dental surgeons in the Deoghar Government Hospital.

Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, the deputy superintendent of Deoghar Sadar Hospital, said that Anand will be relocated to a better treatment centre, preferably Ranchi, the state capital. He stated that the formalities were being completed.

Rahul Sinha, the director of tourism, was personally concerned about Anand’s treatment and maintained track of the essential paperwork processing. According to Dr Prabhat Kumar, Tourism director Rahul Sinha, Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri, and civil surgeon Dr C K Shahi were in constant touch with the hospital to get updates on the situation.

Dr. Prabhat stated that the state government is committed to providing Anand with the best possible treatment. Anand might be referred to Medica hospital in Ranchi, with the government footing the bill for his care.

Anand’s father Govind, a resident of Giridih’s Karmatand, recalled the black Sunday when he and his family became a victim of the dreadful accident.

According to Govind, he and his wife Sonia, as well as his two children, travelled to Tir Nagar in Mohanpur block near Trikut mountain to pray in a temple with his mother-in-law Samanti Devi. During the first half, the entire family had gone to the temple for worship. After the rituals were performed, Samanti Devi put pressure on Govind to travel to Trikut hills. Govind was unable to defy his mother-in-law.

Around 2 p.m., all of the members, including the youngsters, boarded a cabin and travelled up the mountain. They spent about two hours on the mountain and boarded again at 4.25 p.m. to return to cabin number 24.

They reached the second pillar after three or four minutes of boarding when the cabin suddenly became unbalanced and the family members found themselves on the ground. For the next 90 minutes, the mobile’s recording mode stayed on. In this accident, Samanti Devi lost her life. She was the first tourist to lose her life in the accident.

Meanwhile, Govind’s ten-year-old daughter has already been discharged from the hospital. All of the injured tourists, including Govind and his wife, have been released as well. A couple from Kokrajhar, Assam, was also given an ambulance to travel to Dumka this morning by the hospital.
