Dhanbad, March 4: Deoghar district administration has nominated Devipur block circle officer (CO) Sunil Kumar as the new manager of Babadham temple management committee today in place of Ramesh Parihast who was sacked on Thursday in the wake of alleged misbehaviour with Congress MLA Amba Prasad.
Deoghar deputy commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri issued a notification in this regard for the appointment of Devipur CO as manager till further order.
The management of the Babadham temple committee has been in controversy after alleged misbehaviour with the Barkagaon ( Hazaribagh) MLA when she had gone there to offer Puja on Mahashivratri day ( March 1).
Panda Dharmrakshani Sabha also held Ramesh Parihast for mismanagement on Shivratri and was demanding his removal. Finally, the deputy commissioner stopped him from discharging the responsibility of the committee till further order.
Meanwhile, a senior official of the Deoghar district administration said that the deputy commissioner has put on hold the probe report of deputy development commissioner (DDC) Kumar Tarachandra as the state government has ordered an investigation into the incident by two IAS officers who would visit soon.
Sources said the new manager has been appointed for the time being to calm down the prevailing resentment of Panda Samaj and political leaders.
