Dhanbad, June 15: The Dhanbad POCSO court on Thursday awarded 20 years jail term to a youth identified as Suresh Kisku for abduction and sexual exploitation of a minor school student in a one-year-old case.

The Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) said that the special judge of POSCO court Prabhakar Singh, besides 20 years jail sentence, also imposed a penalty of Rs 7,000 on the accused.

The court held Suresh Kisku guilty in the case on Wednesday and announced the quantum of punishment today.

As per the FIR lodged on July 24, 2022, at the Nirsa police station by the mother of the victim, the accused abducted the girl when she had gone to study at Mugma Middle School on July 21, 2022.

When the girl did not return from school, family members reached the school to search. They got information that Suresh had taken her away from school in the afternoon.

Suresh took away the girl at the house of his sister in Jodhpur village of Giridih district after marrying in a temple in Govindpur. Police arrested him with the girl there.

The police filed a chargesheet against him on September 14, 2022. A total of seven people gave statements in court as witnesses.
