Dhanbad, Oct 19: Dhanbad Bajrang Dal activists caught a Jamshedpur girl going to marry a Dhanbad-based Muslim boy and handed them over to police before both the love birds tied the nuptial knot of marriage in the registrar’s office.
Dhanbad Mahila police station officer-in-charge Pushpa Kumari said that the guardians of both the girl and the boy have been informed. The action would be taken against them after the arrival of their guardians.
The girl, a resident of Bistupur, Jamshedpur had fallen in love with Sohel Khan, a resident of the Bhuli East Basuria area through Facebook. Ten days ago the girl had fled from her Bistupur house.
The family members informed the police and Jamshedpur Bajrang Dal activists about this. On Wednesday, the family members got information that the girl is going to get married in Dhanbad. So, they informed the Bajrang Dal activists.
Dhanbad Bajrang Dal activists were also informed about it. As the boy and the girl reached the Dhanbad marriage registrar’s office, Bajrang Dal activists caught them and handed them over to the Mahila police station.
Dhanbad district Bajrang Dal leader Lallu Tiwari said that they had kept a strict vigil at the marriage registrar’s office for the last one week expecting the arrival of the girl. She appeared in the office under the cover of a Burqa and was duly caught.
