Dhanbad, Jan 18: Bank employees across Dhanbad will hold a massive demonstration before their institutions (bank branches) in support of their six points demand from January 20 before going on a two-day strike.
ML Singh, the joint convener of United Forum of Bank Unions, an amalgamation of nine banks employees’ unions, said that a meeting of the Forum held under the chairmanship of Prakash Oraon at Ranchi on Tuesday in which it was unanimously decided to hold a demonstration in front of different banks in support of the demands.
The United Forum of Bank of Unions has announced a two-day strike from January 30-31.
As per the resolution, employees would demonstrate near the Bank of India circle office on January 20. Employees of Bank of Baroda will demonstrate before the main branch in Main Road, Ranchi on January 25 while employees will demonstrate before the State Bank of India main branch, Kutchery Road Ranchi on January 27.
The convener ML Singh said the main demands of the Forum are starting days working in a week, pension updation of earlier retired employees, enrolment on vacant posts for streamlining bank services, resolution of residual issues, implementation of old pension scheme in place of new pension scheme and immediate negotiation on pay revision.
