Dhanbad: BBMKU Teachers’ body decides to hold election in November

Dhanbad, Oct 1: The second biennial election of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA) will be held in November.

BBMKU general secretary Prof Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary said that a meeting of the executive body held under the chairmanship of president Prof RK Tiwary in which it was decided to hold the election for a new committee after the Diwali and Chhath festival. The election of BBMKUTA was due since 2020.

Spokesperson Dr Jitendra Aryan said that before the poll, general body meeting of BBMKUTA will be held In the first fortnight of November which election date and its concerned matter would be decided.

The first election of BBMKTA was held in 2018 in Dhanbad under the supervision of the Federation of Universities Teachers Association of Jharkhand (FUTAJ). President Prof Navin Kumar Singh and general secretary Prof Rajkumar were observers of the state body in the election.

Ten constituent college teachers of the Dhanbad and Bokaro districts would cast their vote in the election. In 2018, election was held for a selection of 11 posts including one president, five vice presidents, one general secretary, five secretaries and one treasurer.

Dr Jitendra Aryan said that the election was due in 2020 but due to the Corona pandemic, it was deferred for a safe time. So the association decided to hold this November. The election would be held under the supervision of FUTAJ observers again.

Besides president Prof RK Tiwary, general secretary Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary, secretary Dr Krishna Murari, spokesperson Dr Jitendra Aryan, Dr Bhagwan Pathak, Dr Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Dr S  Sil, Dr Ashok Mandal, Dr RP Singh Dr Amulya Suman Beck and Dr Manas Acharya were present at the meeting.
