Dhanbad: BCCL worker dies after being hit by truck

Putki, Aug 20: BCCL worker Surendra Paswan died after being hit by a truck at 8 am on Sunday, near the Bank of India at the Karkend turn of Putki police station area.

According to relatives, Surendra Paswan was working in Putki Colliery. After finishing the night duty, he was going home on Sunday morning when he came under the grip of a truck at Karkend turn. In a hurry, he was taken to Kustor Hospital of BCCL, where the doctor declared him brought dead.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Putki police reached the spot. Here, his relatives and local people blocked the road. They sat on a dharna demanding compensation. Till late there was a tussle between the family members and the policemen. The relatives took the dead body to the PB area office and started demanding compensation.
