Dhanbad, Feb 22: Annual science and technology festival of BIT Sindri ‘Techfest’ 23 began today with a host of competitions organised by 10 different branches of the institution.
Production and Industrial Engineering Society (PIES) organized its first programme ‘The Brainstorming Event’ in which hundreds of students participated.
Prof Prakash Kumar, HoD, production and industrial engineering department, and Prof in charge Dr Sumant Mukherjee conducted the programme.
In the ‘Brainstorming Event’ students were given subject matter to put up their opinion. The point of the event was industrial challenges before the new generation and its solution.
The Chemical Engineering department celebrated the Techfest by organizing webinars, and competitions, highlighting the technical skills and creativity of the participating students.
The Techfest of the chemical engineering department kicked off with an inauguration ceremony. Head of the Department, Dr Amit Kumar Gupta lauded the college for organizing such an event that encourages young minds to experience different aspects and domains of Chemical engineering and its scope of it.
Besides Dr Amit Kumar Gupta, HoD Chemical department), Sunil Kumar Singh professor in charge of evaluating the model exhibition, Dr Ashok Kumar Burnawal and Dr Ajay Oraon as jury members for the event were also present.
The Civil Engineering department celebrated the ‘Techfest’ by organizing ‘ Updesh’ in which Chakraview, Cadman, Genesis, Nirman, and debate activities for students.
Prof SK Prasad, HoD VBCE University Mysore, was the chief guest at the ‘ Updesh’ event and discussed with students over his thesis paper. On the occasion civil engineering HoD Prof Ranvijay. Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Prof Ghanshyam, Prof Jitu Kujur, Prof UK Singh, Prof Prafull Sharma, Prof Rajnarayan Ray, and Prof BD Yadav also addressed the inaugural function.
