Dhanbad: Body of woman found in pond

Dhanbad, Oct 8: The body of a 66-year-old woman was found in the Manaitand Chhath Pond of the Dhansar police station area, on Sunday. The woman has been identified as Asma Begum.

After the discovery of the body, there is a sense of unease in the entire locality. Local residents reported that the woman left her home at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. When she didn’t return home, her family started searching for her. It was around 1:30 p.m. that it was discovered that the woman’s clothes were floating on the water in the Chhath Pond.

Later, people gathered and with the help of family members, retrieved the body. People mentioned that the woman used to take sleeping pills, and her mental balance was not good. She was the wife of Nasir Ahmed and lived in Manaitand Pathak Colony, which falls under the Dhansar police station area.

The Dhansar police arrived at the scene and began their investigation.
