Dhanbad, July 12: A college girl student identified as Aditi Kumari (22) committed suicide in Patherdih Mohan Bazar based railway quarter under the Sudamdih police station area, around 14 km away from district headquarters, today in the morning.
The Sudamdih police station officer told media persons that the girl was found hanging with a ceiling fan in her room early morning today at around 5.30 am. Before hanging she had also cut her left wrist vein.
Police found a sign of a blade mark on the wrist of the girl. She was a student of SSLNT Women’s College Dhanbad.
However, the reason for Aditi Kumari’s suicide is not clear. Police have seized the mobile phone of the girl for investigation as her family members were clueless.
Father of the girl Ashok Kumar Singh told the police that Aditi went to bed in her room after taking dinner together at around 11 pm on Tuesday. In the early morning today when they knocked her door she did not respond. Finally, they broke the door and found Aditi hanging with a ceiling fan.
This was the second incident of the suicide of a girl student in the district within 48 hours. Earlier on July 10, Dhanbad St Xavier School Tetulmari class Xth student Usha Kumari had hanged herself to death in her room under the Tetulmari police station.
Usha Kumari had committed suicide allegedly rattled by humiliation inflicted by a school teacher and the principal.
