Dhanbad court awards life term jail to three rapists

Dhanbad, July 17: The Dhanbad POCSO court on Monday sentenced life term imprisonment to the three, accused of raping a minor, in four years old case.

APP Md Jabbar Hussain, giving this information, said that the court of special judge Prabhakar Singh while delivering the judgement also slapped a penalty of Rs 10,000 each on them besides the life term imprisonment.

The court held the trio guilty on Saturday and announced the quantum of punishment in the case today.

As per the FIR lodged in Chirkunda police station of the district on March 18, 2019, all the three accused had abducted the victim girl at night(10 pm) on March 13, 2019, while she was returning to her house in Kumardhubi after attending a marriage ceremony.

All the three accused raped her near the Hanuman temple. Later, she was found in an unconscious condition.

The police filed the charge sheet against them on March 31st 2019 and the court framed the charge against them on August 3, 2019.

The APP  said that a total of five witnesses were cross-examined during the trial.
