Dhanbad: Court seeks case diary in extortion case against BJP MLA Dhulu Mahto

Dhanbad, Sept 20: Controversial BJP Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto failed to get anticipatory bail on Tuesday in an extortion case filed by a hard coke industrialist as court in Dhanbad directed to produce case diary and progress report in the investigation.

Hard coke industrialist Barun Kumar Singh of Bermo (Bokaro) had on February 16, 2022 filed FIR in Rajganj police station of Dhanbad against Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto and his 20 goons for demanding extortion of Rs 10 lakh and bulldozing boundary wall of his factory as he refused to pay.

The court of district and session judge Akhilesh Kumar on Tuesday today after hearing pleas of defense lawyers SN Mukherjee, Radheshyam Goswamy and additional public prosecutor (APP) Kuldeep Sharma over anticipatory bail petition of MLA Dhulu Mahto directed the police to produce case diary on September 24.

As per complaint lodged by Barun Kumar Singh in Rajganj police station on February 16, 2022 around 20 goons of Baghmara MLA Dhuluy Mahto reached his under construction factory site in Mahespur village and demanded Rs 10 lakh extortion. They also got Barun Kumar Singh talked with MLA over demand. He refused to pay.

At the night the goons again reached the spot demolished the boundary wall of the factory with JCB machine. In the CCTV it was found that same people, who had come for demanding extortion for Dhulu Mahto, were seen demolishing boundary wall at night.

On the complaint of Barun Kumar Singh Rajganj police lodged FIR against Dhulu Mahto and the unknown persons under IPC Section 147,148,379, 385, 427. The industrialist also submitted CCTV footage in the police station.
