Dhanbad, June 16: Housing Board has sealed 24 illegal buildings in a special anti- encroachment drive in the Housing Colony under Sadar police station after proper mapping of land.
Executive engineer of the Dhanbad division of Housing Board Anup Samanta said that after mapping Housing Board’s land 30 buildings were identified as illegally constructed. So far 24 of them have been sealed in two-day drive against encroachment.
“On the second day today six plots were identified illegal after mapping of land in Manoram Nagar and that would free from encroachment soon. He said notice has been served to illegal occupiers. The residents did not protest during mapping of land by authority of Housing Board,” said Anup Samanta to media persons.
However, the resident of Manoram Nagar alleged that Housing Board personnel did not measure the land on basis of a proper map. They said that had they measured on basis of a proper map, the land would have gone in their favour.
The Housing Board has launched an anti- encroachment drive in Housing Colony on the directive of the High Court.
Today Board officials along with heavy police reached the colony and began sealing buildings illegally constructed on the land of the Board.
However, occupiers did not resist their drive. but demanded proper measurement on basis of the map.
